본 연구실에서는 분자 생물학 기법 및 단백질 특성 분석 기법을 기반으로 미생물로부터 산업에서 사용되는 새로운 효소를 탐색 및 특성 분석을 주 연구로 하고 있다. 신규 단백질을 대상으로 구조분석 및 생화학적 특성 분석을 수행하여 작용 메커니즘을 규명하고 있다. 또한 분자적 기법(돌연변이 선별기법)을 이용하여 기존의 효소 특성을 변화시켜 개량된 효소를 개발하는 연구를 진행하고 있다.
